Whitney and Richard Tuttle
How do you create an invitation that inspires?
Put the art in party.
For the Whitney Museum's annual Gala celebrating artist Richard Tuttle, we created an exclusive invite system inspired by his work. In reference to the artist’s own use of contrasting materials, we chose to use two contrasting paper stocks—one thick, one micro-thin bible paper—as well as a juxtaposition of different surfaces, from raw on the exterior to smooth on the interior. The blue flower image, created by PG&Co, was later sampled by the artist in his own work, completing the collaboration.
