As Kimpton prepared to launch their first-ever All-Inclusive Resort, they needed to ensure this new category offering upheld the brand standards that guests know and love, while standing out in the crowded Riviera Maya market. They turned to us for help in developing a unique positioning and best-in-class branding that truly reflected the Kimpton spirit. We leaned into the property’s unmatched natural beauty—an expansive nature park with multiple cenotes and a commitment to eco-conscious practices—to create a brand that felt fresh and distinctive, with F&B experiences that fully immersed guests in the local culture.

The Hotel Identity
Kimpton Tres Rios
For the resort itself, we looked to the vast network of on-property cenotes connected through underground rivers. We drew inspiration from these mystical entry points and took cues from the duality of the above and underworld of Mayan lore. The result is brand that bridges modern elegance and ancient tradition.
The Steakhouse
El Carnal
For El Carnal - a way to refer to a close companion - we explore the concept of friendships forged by fire, inspired by the volcanic energy of the region. The idea that steak is best enjoyed seared and with close company, expressed through a contemporary, hand tooled system.
The Italian Restaurant
Bacetto
For Tres Rios’ Italian outlet Bacetto - which means little kisses - we wanted to capture the feeling of penning a letter to someone you love. Little love letters are highlighted throughout the work, capturing the energy of new romance and connection through a dynamic, bold design system.
The Mexican Restaurant
Sabina
Inspired by Maria Sabina’s belief that ‘you are your medicine and healing force’, this direction plays with spiritual motifs, exploring how they can take shape through contemporary Mexican design. Each element offers a handmade quality that is both welcoming and lighthearted.
